This follows the Spanish counting lesson. In Thai the number needs a classifier. People take คน. Animals take ตัว. Shoes take คู่. Books take เล่ม. Trees take ต้น. The conversation counts twenty pairs of shoes, eighteen pairs, two cats, ten friends, and fifteen friends.
Spanish has one word for an aunt and one for an uncle. Thai splits them. ป้า is a parent’s older sister. ลุง is a parent’s older brother. น้า is a parent’s younger sibling. The aunt in the five-hundred-word list is น้า.
